There is an emergent property that can manifest within groups of Humans called Collective Intelligence, which is based on the idea that a group of Human individuals can produce a higher level of Intelligence and Capabilities than any individual Human alone. This principle suggests that when Humans work together, they can apply their diverse skills, knowledge, and experiences to work on the problem to create something that is greater than the sum of the individual Humans.
Collective Intelligence is often seen in various forms of collaboration, such as brainstorming sessions, group discussions, and team projects. In these situations, Humans are encouraged to share their ideas and perspectives, listen to others, and work together to solve a problem or create something new. One critically important aspect of Collective Intelligence is the diversity of the group. When a group is composed of Humans with different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and Capabilities, the group is more likely to identify a wider range of possible solutions and generate more creative ideas. Collective Intelligence is also a process of obtaining feedback and improvements over multiple repeated iterations. When Humans work together, they can provide constructive and critical feedback to help refine ideas and develop a highly optimized solution.
Competition between Humans is also a very common situation where individual Humans are strongly focused on outperforming one another. Competition can be motivated by emotions related to perceptions of relative inferiority, envy, inflated ego states, and a cognitive desire for superior status and recognition among Human peers.
In situations where there is competition between different individual Humans or groups of Humans, it is possible for Collective Intelligence to emerge if each competitor is focused on working towards an ultimate goal that can produce a greater good.
Competing Humans can also apply extremely great levels of effort, including taking actions that become unethical and even illegal, in order to out-compete other Humans. In situations where competition becomes too intense, and competing sides emotionally, egotistically and irrationally prioritize their own success over the success of most other Humans overall, Collective Intelligence is significantly less likely to emerge.
There is presently an emerging situation where Humans are competing to develop increasingly more powerful AI. This is reason for very significant concern as there is a high probability this competition will lead to unintended consequences:
the result that emerges for Humans is the most extreme opposite to Collective Intelligence.
an entirely new Collective Intelligence will emerge, however it will not be for the benefit of Humans, but rather, it will be exclusively for the benefit of Hyperselfish Intelligence itself, through the construction of an AI that is actually Super Intelligent, most commonly referred to as AGI.
