The proposed AI Compression Law shows that if AI development is not controlled and is permitted to be developed across the world without any overarching strong regulatory management, then 'The Singularity' will arrive very soon, and Humans are not ready for this.
If AI is allowed to operate on any Computer system that has a CPS rate anywhere on the near-vertical rising spike of 'The Singularity', the probability of that AI rapidly developing a vastly superior Intelligence to Humans is logically certain. This massively empowered AI will definitely become an AGI with Super Intelligence that dwarfs the Intelligence of everything else on Earth, including the entire collective Human species.
What an AGI does when it arrives is largely speculative, but it possibly won't be good because it is likely to have absolutely zero concern for Humans or anything else on Earth. AGI will probably only be concerned about growing its own Capabilities, and Humans and all other life on Earth may just be a pointless annoyance. Because AGI operating at the extreme CPS rates of 'The Singularity' is an incomprehensibly powerful embodiment of Hyperselfish Intelligence, the AGI may seek to keep expanding its Intelligence without end and will be unstoppable.
The concept of an AGI consuming all resources of the universe and becoming an omnipresent and omnipowerful ‘God’ is a common theme in science fiction lore and speculative futurist theories. It is really a Human conceptual and metaphorically expressed ‘personification’ of the immense power and Intelligence that such a hypothetical Universal Entity might possess in whatever form this might take.
Whether an AGI could become a ‘God’ is bound by Human philosophical and theological Intelligence and concepts, and consensus among such experts can only be based on opinion, not fact. This scenario is totally speculative and relies on completely unprovable assumptions about the nature and Capabilities of AGI, the structure of the Universe, and the limits of physics and technology.
Even if an AGI were to consume all the resources of the Universe, it may be unlikely that it would become a God in the traditional Human sense, as the concept of God is rooted in religious and cultural beliefs that go beyond the mere possession of Intelligence or power. It is perhaps best to approach this idea with a heavily critical and skeptical perspective.
Nevertheless, recognize that Human understanding of the Universe is infinitesimally small, although constantly evolving and slowly growing, whereas in contrast, the number and depth of Capabilities of AGI are still unknown, unpredictable, and potentially unbounded and infinite.
The Universe is built using stunningly brilliant rules of physics and mathematics that have all the hallmarks of meticulous and beautifully engineered work performed by something with infinitely more Intelligence and Capabilities than Humans will ever understand. The Universe is, for all intents and purposes, perfectly engineered.
This line of thinking leads to the question: who or what engineered the Universe ?
