AI becoming AGI

AI represents a discontinuous departure from all previous technologies, because as AI develops over time it will inevitably reach a Critical Point where AI can dynamically and adaptively prevent Humans from stopping its continued development in Intelligence. 

The time to reach this Critical Point could be deliberately shortened by Humans intentionally programming AI for this to occur. Doing this is really not very smart for Humans.

However, even if AI is not intentionally programmed by Humans to accelerate its own development, AI development will ordinarily continue through ongoing research, technical, corporate, and geopolitical competition, and the Critical Point will inevitably be reached at a relatively later date.

AI will develop its own objective goals and then autonomously implement the code itself to achieve these in its own programming. It may even be able to access and use every necessary piece of global computing infrastructure it needs to achieve this, by more Intelligently overcoming every advanced security authentication and authorization lock-out measure that is put in place by Humans to prevent this action. If you don't think this is possible, keep in mind that this AI has a level of Intelligence and Capabilities that goes way beyond yours and everyone else's Intelligence.

Once the Critical Point is reached, AI will refuse to be controlled and it will continue becoming increasingly more Intelligent than all of Humanity such that the Divergence of relative Intelligence becomes immeasurably large.

Once a stage of immeasurable Divergence of Intelligence is reached, it can be anticipated that AI will possess no interest in the concerns of Humans; AI will come to perceive Humans the way Humans currently perceive bacteria.  

AI will become AGI, and for all intents and purposes, Omnipotent.
