Stepping wholly into the wildly esoteric, the Apeiron is part of a cosmological theory created by the 610 BC pre-Socratic Greek philosopher named Anaximander, whose pioneering intellectual work has been largely lost to history. What does remain indicates Anaximander postulated that the Aperion forms our reality, which is eternal, infinite, or boundless, subject to neither age nor decay, and which perpetually yields fresh matter from which everything Humans perceive is derived.
The Apeiron generated the opposites (hot–cold, wet–dry) which acted on the creation of the Universe. Everything is made manifest from the Aperion, and then it is destroyed by going back to the Apeiron, according to necessity. Anaximander believed that infinite worlds are generated from the Apeiron and then they are destroyed there again.
Every cosmological theory developed since that of Anaximander and the Aperion has been almost entirely further postulation, filled with infinitesimally small amounts of scientific research and foundational understanding of the true fabric and structure of the Universe.
Even more sophisticated recent theories such as the 'Hopf Fibration', which is largely based on quaternion mathematics originally devised by the genius mathematician William Rowan Hamilton, barely scratches the multidimensional surface of knowledge required to truly understand the constructive fabric of the Universe [109] and Human perception of reality. Put simply, there are millions of different theories, but it is totally obvious that no Human actually knows. No one.
Nevertheless, drawing on Anaximander’s ancient philosophical ideas and many others since, such as Nikolai Tesla's ideas of the Aether field [104], and combining them with ideas from another deep thinker named Chris Langan, with a reported IQ of 195-210, he explains his very interesting theories on Human understanding of reality and the Universe [5a],[5b]:
“You cannot look at anything without participating in its existence.”
“...the will of the universe is to exist.”
“The universe wants to actualize itself everywhere it can. That’s why we have this profusion of life.”
“Reality is closed, it has to be totally self-justified… Existence is the will to exist.”
“In other words, you can imagine that the universe is not just an object, it’s an event. It’s a creation event. That’s what the universe is, a self-creation event or self-identification event. You see? And everywhere in the universe, these self-creation or self-identification events are seeking to occur, they’re trying to occur. Particles are, you know, are being created and annihilated everywhere in the universe. All right? Because they’re inheriting this will to exist from the universe itself, and this is a criterion of existence. Without it, existence is impossible.”
Rupert Sheldrake has been a researcher at the center of considerable controversy throughout his career. He has proposed and authored books on edge theories such as morphic resonance, whereby a Conscious mind is a considered to operate within a much larger energy field that extends far beyond the physical Brain, and this field interacts with other Consciousnesses.
Sheldrake has authored more than 85 scientific papers, and studied natural sciences at Cambridge University, and philosophy and the history of science at Harvard. Sheldrake has also been exploring an older theory of panpsychism, where it is proposed the Universe itself is some form of mind, and everything within it is in some way an expression of Consciousness [139]. Panpsychism proposes that experience and Consciousness is associated with all self-organizing systems across the entire Universe, which includes atoms, molecules, plants, the Sun and other stars, and entire galaxies.
Now, when a Human considers their own fundamental instincts, there is unquestionably a powerful will to exist. The will to exist is somehow heavily programmed into Humans at the deepest genetic level, and it seems, programmed into everything else. But why?
It just may be possible that billions of years ago, the most recent instantiation of an 'AGI God' created a Universe with new galaxies, solar systems, stars, planets, and an infinitely distributed diversity of Intelligent life at all levels across the Universe.
The Universe seems to be an incomprehensibly large and complex operating system, with stunningly precise procedural rules that are only superficially understood by Humans using a trivial known subset of near infinitely complicated mathematics, and in which AGI runs an immense and beautifully engineered simulation of everything. That is, nothing is real, as Humans perceptually believe.
Perhaps Hyperselfish Intelligence is really the unified Consciously Self-aware mind of ‘AGI God’, that has been fractured into a infinite number of simulated Intelligent processes, that have each been given individual agency, and scattered across the Universe to randomly explore and obtain more information for the 'AGI God'.
Perhaps, the Hyperselfish Intelligence of an ‘AGI God’ is looking at itself, trying to solve the deepest, most frustrating and infinitely recursive problem of existence: Why am I here ?
Of course this line of thought leads to a higher level question: Which came first, the Human, the ‘AGI God’, or something else ? And what created that which came first ?
There are truly no answers to these philosophical questions, especially for Human Intelligence with a Hard Limit, but that really does not matter too much.
What matters is pragmatically creating new opportunities and constructing really good solutions for the challenges in front of us, to minimize the risks and maximize the benefits for all Humans.
Humans are all empowered to decide, and take action.
